Recreation Department

The Amsterdam Recreation Department offers a wide range of activities for youngsters and adults. We support youth baseball and girl's softball, Little Giants football, and adult softball for men and women. We maintain an Olympic sized pool at Veterans field during the summer months along with tennis and basketball courts. Our various park programs include a musical play production each summer, and the summer drop-in program where lunch and transportation are provided and games and activities are enjoyed. Winter activities include basketball, volleyball and ice-skating located behind City Hall.

The Recreation Department is charged with the responsibility for maintaining over 15 parks and recreational areas in the City of Amsterdam and is committed to bringing residents of the region state-of-the-art equipment, clean and safe facilities and exciting youth and adult programming.
