Assessor's Office

The Assessor's Office consists of two full time employees, the assessor and the deputy. The office is subject to the Real Property Tax Law and as such, attempts to maintain equity of the property values. Our office prepares the rolls which are used to levy taxes for our City, County and School District. We have over 7,000 parcels, an updated inventory and have recently completed a city wide revaluation. We also have jurisdiction of the user fees consisting of the water, sewer and sanitation as well as the exemptions allowed by law. Our office answers thousands of inquiries from taxpayers during the year as we wish to keep the public appraised of their taxing situation.
