Amsterdam Industrial Development Agency (AIDA)
The Amsterdam Industrial Development Agency (AIDA) was created in 1973 as a public benefit corporation for the purpose of assisting in the creation and retention of both employment opportunities and businesses in the City of Amsterdam. A seven member Board of Director’s is appointed by the city Common Council to oversee the Agency’s operations.
AIDA serves as a liaison to the business community to both facilitate communication between government and the private sector as well as to assist in addressing the individual concerns of businesses with city policies or services. In addition, the Agency provides the following services:
- Site or Building location assistance, data base of available properties
- Competitive rate loans for inventory, equipment and real estate
- Property Tax Abatements via a Ten year, yearly 10% escalating schedule
- Job Training Programs/Employee Referral Assistance to a variety of resources throughout the area
The Amsterdam Industrial Development Agency also has space available in its' pre-approved industrial park for warehousing and manufacturing facilities in the 10,600-60,000 square feet range. The Edson Street Industrial Park presently contains over 160,000 square feet of space on 70 acres. The park is fully served by all utilities including gas, electric and municipal water and sewer.
